COMP MATH/ALGEBRA 1 - COACH SMITH I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Jaymie Smith and I will be teaching your child’s Comp Math/Algebra I class this year. I am in my eighth year of teaching. This is my third year at Pascagoula High School. In the past, I have spent three years at Enterprise High School and two years at the Pascagoula Opportunity Center. Over that time, I have taught World Geography, Mississippi Studies, 8th Grade Social Studies, 7th Grade Math, Foundations to Algebra, Comp Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, and ACT Prep. I am currently an assistant coach for the PHS football team and the head coach of the PHS tennis team.
This will be a very rigorous class that will cover all topics of Algebra I. This class is a year-long class. It is very important for your student to be in class every day and on task to learn all of the topics. Tutoring is available on Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursday. If a student needs to make up a quiz or test, or retake a quiz or test, they are required to do so during tutoring. Also, if a student fails a district administered exam, they are required to attend tutoring for remediation and to retake the exam.
