Assistant Principals

Mr. Sedric Covington has been an educator for twenty-one years. Mr. Covington has taught 8th grade English, English I, English II, English III, and AP Language and Composition. He also served as an Academy Coach/Lead Teacher at Jim Hill High School.
 
Currently, he serves as one of the Assistant Principals at Pascagoula High School. Before moving into administration, he worked as an English I teacher and a school counselor at Pascagoula High School.
 
He has been a National Board Certified English Teacher since 2014 in the area of Adolescent and Young Adulthood English Language Arts.
 
He was named Teacher of the Year in 2016.

Mr. Covington is an Army Veteran. He honorably served one tour of duty in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom III).
 
In his spare time, Mr. Covington enjoys racing Mustangs, spending time with his family, and reading ALL things American Literature.

My name is Michael Jackson, and I'm proud to be an Assistant Principal at Pascagoula High School!! I graduated from East Central High School in 1992 and  The University of Southern Mississippi in 1998. I was an Assistant teacher at Singing River Elementary and Gautier High School. I began my teaching career at Colmer Middle School in 1998. I taught Middle School 7th and 8th grade Science. I also Coached Football and Track for seven years. 
 
In 2005 , I began my career at Gautier Middle School as an Assistant Principal. In 2018, I was given the opportunity to move to Pascagoula High School to be an Assistant Principal. I am so lucky to be able to work with amazing Teachers and Administrators at PHS.  
 
Elizabeth Butler is the wife of David Butler and the mother of Madison and Clayton. She has been the assistant principal at PHS for six years. She has been an educator for twenty-one years. Mrs. Butler views education as a calling, and she has enjoyed her journey throughout her career. She began as an English teacher at Vancleave High School, then taught at East Central for nine years and served as an assistant principal in George County for four years. Mrs. Butler has been the recipient of the Consistency Award and the Melinda Mitchell Award while at PHS. She has also been part of the Jostens Renaissance committee that worked to earn the title of Platinum School of Distinction, and she presented at the Jostens Renaissance summer conference.
Ms. Jennifer Jones is thrilled to be a part of Pascagoula High School's Administration team! She has been in education for 13 years. She taught 5th grade math in the Moss Point School District for four years. In 2014, she joined the Pascagoula-Gautier School District, teaching 2nd and 4th grade at College Park Elementary. Ms. Jones was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2013 and 2022.
 
Ms. Jones received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from William Carey University. Currently, she is attending The University of Mississippi's Principal Corps program. The elite 13-month program prepares educators for administration while offering a full year of internship.
 
Ms. Jones has a passion for education and the development of teachers. She looks forward to learning more about administration at the secondary and elementary schools.
